SkySync® and OneSync® are wholly-owned products of Portal Architects, Inc., an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based company. Co-founded by ECM software veterans, Portal Architects is an engineering company first with the singular focus on delivering enterprise-class software that’s simple to deploy and use.

We have deep and extensive expertise within Large-scale Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution development, Cloud-based Enterprise File Sync & Share (EFSS) Services, as well as Microsoft SharePoint and related technologies.

Mark Brazeau
 Founder & CEO

With 25+ years in Information Technology field, Mark is the founder/CEO of Portal Architects (SkySync). In his prior career, he was also the founder/CEO of BlueThread Technologies, the creators of SmartDesk, a configurable ECM application framework built upon Microsoft SharePoint. BlueThread also created and architected StoragePoint, a SharePoint-based storage solution architected to dramatically improve the performance and management of large-volumes of content. In 2009, BlueThread received Microsoft’s “SharePoint innovative Partner-of-the-year” award. He subsequently sold StoragePoint to an Insight Venture Partners/BessemerVentures portfolio company in 2010.

Previously, Mark was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Product Marketing at KnowledgeLake, a SharePoint ECM company as well as Image Process Design, a FileNet/IBM ISV. Mark was also the founder/CEO of MediaVision, (an electronic arts company) which was later sold to VideoSource in 1995.

Mark has several ECM-related technical certifications as well as earned numerous awards for audio design and engineering while he was the co-founder/CEO of FutureSound from 1980-1992. He attended the University of Toledo college of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science before launching his second company at the age of 20.  

Steve Woodward
Chief Technology Officer

Steve has over 27 years in the Information Technology field, focusing primarily on web technology, workflow, imaging, and ECM solutions. He has designed, built, and delivered ECM applications for several fortune 500 companies including some of the country’s largest insurance and financial companies. Steve, a Microsoft Certified Professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Six Sigma Green Belt, has also worked within the manufacturing industry IT space, delivering inventory management, data warehouse, and workflow applications.

Via historical roles as developer, team lead, and development lead, Steve has managed all phases of the software lifecycle; including design, development, documentation, automated testing, and QA. As a hands-on executive, he has delivered several enterprise-class ECM solutions leveraging a variety of workflow engines and content management platforms.

Shaun Becker
Chief Architect

With 18+ years of experience, Shaun has architected/developed a wide variety of applications from traditional desktop to client/server to large scale web applications using a wide range of languages including C#, Java, C++, JavaScript, SQL, and others. For the majority of his career, Shaun has filled the role of Senior Architect, leading teams that spanned multiple geographies and time zones. Shaun specializes in designing and implementing ReST/SOAP web services, spatial, and analytic applications as well as single instance, multi-tenant large-scale/high performance web applications.

Michael J. Lantzy
VP of Sales and Alliances

With more than a decade of experience, Michael has devoted his career to helping global enterprises solve complex business challenges with innovative software technologies. Michael has a proven track record of developing and managing successful, high-integrity sales teams. His track record includes successful tenures with high growth SaaS companies Knowledge Lake and Fuze.

Kevin Ells
Vice President of Marketing

Over the last two decades, Kevin has held the roles of Director of Marketing, Product Marketing Manager, Webmaster and Sales Engineer for some of the most innovative organizations in the Enterprise Content Management ecosystem. Kevin held the position of Director of Marketing at Ephesoft, Axis Technical Group, and KnowledgeLake. He has also functioned in the role of Field Marketing and Product Marketing Manager at Kofax, where he received awards for Overachiever and Employee of the Year. Kevin was one of the founding members of Magellan Software.

Kevin has several ECM-related and Microsoft certifications, and he attended Anoka-Ramsey, Fullerton, Golden West and Orange Coast colleges with an AA and a focus on computer science and marketing.

Lydia Moreno
Vice President, Client Solutions

Lydia has built her career within the ECM industry primarily focusing on Enterprise level strategic accounts. For over 20 years, she has built and directed teams at leading organizations including Kofax, KnowledgeLake and Liberty IMS before joining SkySync. Talented at team building, pre-sales, account management, and dedicated to servant leadership, Lydia focuses on an exceptional client experience from pre-sales to post.

She is a gifted strategist and understands that each interaction with the client is an opportunity to further develop the partnership. Lydia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.

Ron Cameron
Board Member

Ron Cameron currently serves as a Board Member to SkySync. He is currently the Chairman of KnowledgeLake, Inc. as well as Senior Board Adviser to Ephesoft. During his 16-year tenure as co-founder and CEO of KnowledgeLake, the company was named to Inc. 5000’s List of Fastest Growing Companies and was also a three-time winner of the Microsoft Partner of the Year award. Under his guidance, KnowledgeLake was acquired by Fujitsu, Ltd in 2013. Prior to his career at KnowledgeLake, Mr. Cameron also served as co-founder and president of Doctex.

Montgomery Kersten
Board Member

As a SkySync board member, Montgomery Kersten leverages his expertise within high-growth software companies by building effective sales and marketing strategies, forging strategic relationships as well as designing and implementing strong intellectual property protection.

Acting as CEO, Mr. Kersten co-founded VitalSigns Software with Jim Goetz, which was successfully acquired by INS.  Mr. Kersten also has served for over a decade as a board member and donor to the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, which oversees five charities. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame (member of Phi Beta Kappa), and a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School.

Plymouth Venture Partners

Plymouth Ventures is a Venture Capital Firm adding value to growth stage companies in the Great Lakes Region. The firm primarily invests in technology, B2B businesses, service, manufacturing, health care, technology, consumer products, and communications sectors. Plymouth Venture Partners was founded in 2002 and is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
